Sevtap Frantz (Chair)

Sevtap Frantz is currently an Assistant Professor at Prince George’s Community College’s Language Studies Department. She holds a MA in Curriculum and Instruction with an ESL speciality from George Washington University. She is a Swiss born Turkish-American citizen who has had the opportunity to teach to students from various social-cultural backgrounds.

Lizabeth England (Co-Chair)

Liz England enjoys a career in language teacher education. Her Ph. D. is from the University of Illinois Champaign-Urbana (1984), with academic teaching positions in the United States, Egypt, Hong Kong and Indonesia. She is a frequent consultant on international education projects. Her publications include books, book chapters and research reports in scholarly journals and her presentations at international conferences and in online interactive contexts span a variety of topics in teaching English to speakers of other languages as well as Arabic to speakers of other languages. Throughout her career, Liz has enjoyed her work with non-native speakers. In addition to working with WATESOL's NNEST community, she is currently writing a book on TESOL career path development. Audiences worldwide have participated in Liz’s presentations and read her publications on issues related to non-native English speaking teachers – most recently in her online graduate courses, at TESOL Electronic Village Online, Kuwait TESOL, and at universities in Russia, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Kuwait and Dubai.


Di Liu (Research/Editorial Coordinator)

Di Liu is doctoral fellow in Boston University. He earned his MA degree in TESOL from New York University and is working with Dr. Marnie Reed on applied phonology and Computer-Assisted Language Learning. He taught English in various contexts and has been working on several research projects including (1) technology-enhanced pronunciation research and teaching, (2) cross-linguistic investigation of Mandarin and English prosody, (3) constraints on intonation as a function of tone inventory structure, and (4) neurocognitive investigation of prosodic features. He has presented his studies in various conferences including TESOL, AAAL, WATESOL and PSLLT conference.


Eleonora Kirpichnikova (member)

Eleonora Kirpichnikova, WEC Director of Curriculum and Instruction & ESL Instructor at Carlos Rosario Public Charter School. Eleonora has 12 years of experience in the fields of language instruction and curriculum development. She has an MBA, a Master’s degree in Linguistics, and she ran a language school for 4 years. She has published 2 books for language learners


Professor Brock Brady (Founder member)

Brock Brady is a Past-President of TESOL International Association. He also served as the Co-Director of the AU TESOL Program for twelve years, teaching courses in English language teaching methodology, assessment, teaching pronunciation, intercultural communication, online learning, and curriculum and materials design. Currently he works as a educational consultant for Peace Corps. His research interests in addition to NNEST studies include program and course design, cross-cultural discourse analysis, pronunciation teaching, classroom assessment, distance learning, and teacher training.  Brady was an early member of TESOL’s NNEST Caucus, founder of the WATESOL NNEST Caucus, and Chair Elect of TESOL’s NNEST Interest Section, 2008-2009.
