WATESOL Advocacy

We recognize that policy and advocacy channels are more important now than ever before. Our goal is to be a trusted source of policy and advocacy information. Along these lines we are reigniting WATESOL's Advocacy role. We would like to form a committee to support this effort. If you are interested in being involved in Advocacy, please email our Advocacy Chair, Polina Vinogradova, at advocacy@watesol.org

Your involvement can be whatever might work for you:

  • attend committee meetings
  • help gather legislative information to post to our website
  • help organize advocacy events, etc.

This committee is for you if you are:

  • interested in political and policy issues that affect ELLs
  • interested in learning how to more effectively advocate for your students
  • concerned about the political climate and how it may affect ELLs

If you want to reach out to our WATESOL Advocacy Chairs directly, email: advocacy@watesol.org

Stay tuned--we will be continue to post information here and via our social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter.

In these times, we are thankful for the WATESOL community who serve ELLs in all of the unique and important ways that you do.

In gratitude,

The WATESOL Board
