Any WATESOL member may apply for these grants. Grant recipients must contribute an article to the WATESOL Newsletter giving an account of the professional development experience facilitated by the grant. See below for more information about each grant.
TESOL International Convention Travel GrantThis Grant is intended to help WATESOL members cover the costs of traveling to the TESOL International Convention. The recipient will receive up to $1,000 in a form of reimbursement for conference travel expenses, including but not limited to registration, transportation, and lodging. Graduate Student Action Research GrantThe Graduate Student Action Research Grant is intended to provide additional support to WATESOL student members in their research that focuses on improvement of student learning and teaching practices in the area of TESOL. This grant is only open to current graduate students in TESOL or a related field. Up to 2 awards will be made. |

Jim Weaver Scholarship for Professional DevelopmentThe Jim Weaver Scholarship was created to help defray educational or professional development costs. These could include professional conference registration fees, fees for short courses, seminars, workshops, subscriptions to journals in the field, or funding of professional development groups at a particular institution. Up to 2 awards will be made. |
